Bijnor. Rashtriya Lok Dal Ruhilkhand region vice president Shamshad Ansari resigned from the primary membership of the party along with his colleagues. He said that the Muslim community is hurt and feels cheated due to the support given by RLD national president Jayant Chaudhary to the Waqf Amendment Bill presented by the central government.
Shamshad’s wife has been the chairman of Bijnor Nagar Palika. Earlier on Friday, Shahzeb Rizvi had announced to leave the party by releasing a video. Shahzeb Rizvi has described himself as RLD state general secretary, while RLD state president Ramashish Rai has said that he is not in the committee.
Was an active leader of SP
District president Matloob Gaur said that he was not involved in the party activities for the last one year. Earlier he was the state general secretary of youth. Shamshad Ansari, while addressing a press conference on Saturday, said that he was an active leader of SP and later joined RLD.
He said that the incident that happened in Sambhal recently and the issue of being prevented from offering namaz on the road was raised before RLD national president Jayant Chaudhary, but he remained silent on it. Now he and the people of the Muslim community are very hurt by RLD’s support to the Waqf Amendment Act.
‘Jayant has deviated from the ideology of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh’
This is the reason why he and his 200 colleagues announced their resignation from RLD. They said that they have no intention of joining any political party right now. Shahzeb Rizvi said that Jayant has now deviated from the ideology of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh.
There are 10 MLAs of RLD in West UP. All of them have a good number of Muslim votes. Muslims are hurt by his decision. Shahzeb came into the limelight on 14 August 2020 when he announced a reward of Rs 51 lakh to anyone who would behead P Naveen, the nephew of Karnataka Congress Dalit MLA Akhand Sri Nivasamurthy, in the Bengaluru violence case.
