Raju Rajbhar (35) was beaten to death in a brawl in the Barai village of Chaubepur area of Varanasi over the planting of abir. There are also reports of four people injured in the attack, one of whom is in critical condition.
Villagers said that there was an argument in the afternoon to apply abir on two sides. After that, the opposition united after some time, from 20 to 25, started abusing the family of the deceased. Raju Rajbhar, who slept at home, was told by his wife that people were abusing him outside. Hearing the deceased Raju went to ask the reason for abusing them, then the opposition attacked the deceased. Raju died in this attack. Four of his family members are also seriously injured in the attack. The injured are being treated at the Mandali Hospital.
The deceased Raju Rajbhar has three children of which two boys are one girl. The deceased was presently a BDC of Barai village and a hard worker of BJP. On receiving the information about the incident, CO Pindra Abhishek Pandey Police Station President Choubepur Rajesh Tripathi and police forces of several police stations reached the spot.
Superintendent of Police, Rural and CO Pindra, who reached the spot, assured the family to take strict action against the opposition. On receiving the information, the minister of the state, Anil Rajbhar, spent three hours in Choubepur town and cheated the family and directed the police to take strict action by filing a case against those involved in the incident.
