In Vikasnagar, Pachchwadun and Jaunsar-Bawar, the electricity bill of the Power Corporation is more than twenty crores. The Energy Corporation team is getting sweaty these days in recovering the outstanding bill of millions pending on many government institutions and hundreds of consumers.
If you look at the figures, the corporation owes about four crore electricity bills to 197 government institutions associated with the three sub-divisions of Vikasnagar, Chakrata and Herbatpur. Apart from this, the number of defaulters between five and ten thousand is beyond four thousand. Energy Corporation officials have formed half a dozen teams to accelerate the recovery campaign.
In the last ten days, the Energy Corporation team collected a record revenue of four crores. Along with this, electricity connections of more than 300 pending defaulters were also cut. Executive Engineer SK Gupta has issued final notices to several government institutions and other big defaulters who did not pay the outstanding bills. However, it is a big challenge for the Energy Corporation to recover the outstanding bill of crores.
These days the team of Energy Corporation is looking into the list of pending big defaulters in Pachhwadoon and Jaunsar-Bawar. Due to non-payment of electricity bills on time, the Energy Corporation owes about twenty crore electricity bills to various government institutions and hundreds of other defaulters associated with the three sub-divisions of Vikasnagar, Herbatpur and Chakrata.
The figures of the corporation are also confirming this fact. Talking about government institutions that have not paid electricity bills for a long time, the Energy Corporation has a 25 lakh outstanding bill on the Health Department. Apart from this, 22 lakhs on the tubewell block department, 19 lakh on education department, eight lakh on revenue department, four lakh on forest department, three lakh on LONV, two lakh on transport department, one and half lakh on police department and about two lakh on agriculture department. The electricity bill is outstanding.
Barring government institutions, the number of other pending defaulters is between four thousand and five thousand in Pachhwadun and Jaunsar-Bawar. Energy Corporation officials have stepped up the exercise to recover pending outstanding bills of crores from 197 government institutions and more than four thousand other defaulters. The energy corporation team engaged in the recovery campaign are losing crores of outstanding bills in sweat.
To achieve the target, Superintendent Engineer PS Rawat of Energy Corporation Dehradun Headquarters visited Pachhwadoon area five days ago and checked the progress report of the recovery drive. Superintending Engineer Rawat has instructed the SDO of EE Vikasnagar and all the three sub-divisions to expedite the recovery drive.
In this series, Executive Engineer Power Distribution Block Vikasnagar SK Gupta has formed half a dozen teams led by SDO Vikasnagar Gurudeep Singh, SDO Herbatpur Ashwani Kumar and SDO Chakrata Ashok Kumar Prajapati and three other junior engineers.
