Kolkata. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday lashed out at the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal for not allowing slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’. Shah said that Mamata didi gets annoyed if someone shouts Jai Shri Ram as a political slogan in Bengal. He also said that Banerjee treats people like criminals if they shout Jai Shri Ram.
Shah said, is this an insult to him? While so many people take pride in this, the Chief Minister of Bengal feels humiliated. This is because she wants to appeal to a particular community to maintain her vote bank politics. He said, I want to ask him if people from other communities do not vote for him in the state? The Home Minister said, “If Jai Shri Ram’s slogans are not to be raised in India, will it be imposed in Pakistan?” He said this during a rally starting the Parivartan Yatra in Cooch Behar district.
Shah will also visit Thakurnagar in North 24-Parganas to address a rally there in the evening. He reached Guwahati on Wednesday night. Shah met Anant Roy, head of the Greater Cooch Behar People’s Association (GCPA) in Chirang district of Assam on Thursday. He said that Banerjee is only focused on making his nephew Abhishek Banerjee the next Chief Minister of West Bengal.
Shah said, If Dilip Ghosh had not been there, she would have announced it long ago. But she is scared now. I would urge people to choose Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development campaign and dismiss Mamata’s destructive politics this time. She said, she constantly fights from the center. I want to ask you whether it will help in bringing development in Bengal?
Union Minister Shah said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) visit is aimed at ending the corrupt Trinamool government in West Bengal.
