Washington US Secretary of State Tony Blinken praised former President Donald Trump’s tough attitude towards China and justified his stand. He said that the attitude of the Biden administration would be somewhat similar to that of the Trump government to compete with China. Blinton said in an interview to CNN that although Trump’s approach was wrong, the intent was correct.
He said, “I think objectively about Trump that his strict attitude towards China was right.” But we will also face Beijing with full force. Blinken spoke to his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi last Friday. During this time, he had said that China’s accountability will be fixed for the works that damage the international system. In addition to giving this stern message, Blinken also raised issues of human rights violations in Xinjiang, Tibet and Hong Kong. This conversation was over the phone between the US and Chinese foreign ministers. This is the first top-level dialogue in both countries since Joe Biden became president on January 20.
This was the attitude of the former president
The relations between the US and China were extremely tense during the Trump administration. This administration took a tough stand against Beijing over the Corona epidemic, human rights violations and the South China Sea. The Trump administration had banned many companies and officials of the ruling Communist Party in Hong Kong over new security laws and atrocities and espionage on Uygar Muslims. Trump blamed China for the origin of the corona and called the corona a Chinese virus.
