New Delhi. Twitter suspended more than 550 accounts on Wednesday in connection with the violence that took place during a farmers’ tractor rally in the national capital on the 72nd Republic Day. A Twitter spokesperson told ANI that the platform also labeled tweets that were found to be in violation of its media policy.
The spokesperson said that we have suspended the accounts of those attempting to incite violence, abuse, and threats. Such people can create harm or risk by breaking the rules, which are in violation of our rules.
Delhi Police already informed about Twitter account
Let us know that a few days ago Delhi Police also claimed that more than 300 Twitter accounts have been created from Pakistan to disrupt the proposed tractor parade of farmers on the occasion of Republic Day. In this regard, Special Commissioner of Police (Intelligence) Deepender Pathak had said that more than 300 Twitter accounts have been created from Pakistan during January 13 to 18 to disrupt the tractor parade of farmers. The same type of information has been received from various agencies in this regard.
FIR registered against Rakesh Tikait on Delhi violence-disturbance
Action has started on the violence and disturbance in the capital Delhi during the tractor parade on 26 January. The names of several big farmer leaders have also been included in the FIR lodged by the Delhi Police. Farmer leaders Darshan Pal, Rajinder Singh, Balbir Singh Rajewal, Buta Singh Burjgil and Joginder Singh have been booked for violating the NOC issued to the farmers’ tractor rally. It has been informed by Delhi Police that the Indian Farmers Union spokesperson Rakesh Tikait is also named in the FIR.
It is being told that an FIR has been registered against Rakesh Tikait as well as Yogendra Yadav. An FIR has been lodged against three including the Indian Farmers Union leader Rakesh Tikait at Ghazipur police station in East Delhi district. An FIR has been registered against Swaraj India founder Yogendra Yadav.
