Dehradun. Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, Dr. Indira Hridayesh, has sharply retaliated against former Chief Minister Harish Rawat questioning the collective leadership in the upcoming elections. He said that Harish Rawat was the face in the 2017 elections as Chief Minister, but he himself lost the election in two seats. The party got only 11 seats. The battle has started within the Congress on the issue of leadership in the upcoming assembly elections. Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat did not miss targeting state president Pritam Singh, leader of opposition Indira Hridayesh and state in-charge Devendra Yadav regarding the party’s policy of collective leadership in this matter. Indira Hridayesh took a jibe at Harish Rawat’s outspoken remarks on the internet media. He exhorted Harish Rawat to create such an atmosphere so that the people can vote for us in the elections. The party should not be harmed due to ambition.
Senior party leader said that if Harish Rawat wants to declare himself as the face for the upcoming assembly elections from the party high command. He said that whether or not to make a face, it is the task of the high command. Rawat has lived from the block chief to the chief minister. The party has given him a lot. It was his decision to contest two seats in the last assembly election. However, she herself was not in favor of this. The party lost two seats instead of one. Had he won, the party would have won 13 seats.
On the other hand, Pradesh Congress President Pritam Singh said that the party is in favor of fighting the collective leadership in the upcoming elections. Harish Rawat’s suggestion to declare the face of the Chief Minister is personal. It has nothing to do with the party.
The party’s stance on Rawat’s stance may again become clear
State in-charge Devendra Yadav can clear the party’s stance on the statement of former Chief Minister Harish Rawat to declare the face in the upcoming elections in Uttarakhand in the Congress. Devendra Yadav will attend the Raj Bhavan Cooch program of the Congress on 15 January. However, Harish Rawat expressed his inability to participate in the event. He has cited busyness in a pre-determined schedule.
