Magh fair begins with Makar Sankranti, devotees are taking a dip of virtue

Prayagraj Starting from Makar Sankranti to Mahashivaratri, the Aastha Mela ‘Magh Mela’ started on Thursday at the confluence between the Corona epidemic. Faith is overshadowed by infection and cold and fog. During this time, a large crowd of devotees is seen taking a holy dip. The bathing of devotees started with the Brahma Muhurta at all the bathing ghats of Ganga and Yamuna including Sangam on the first bathing festival of Magh Mela i.e. Makar Sankranti. Devotees were less visible in the morning at the confluence and surrounding ghats. But since seven o’clock in the morning, the number of devotees is continuously increasing.
Apart from Sangam, bathing is also going on at Akshyavat, Kali Ghat, Daraganj, Phaphamau Ghat of Ganga.
There will be six major baths during the Magh Mela. It starts with Makar Sankranti.
The devotees seem unperturbed by the corona infection. Amidst the half-baked preparations, the enthusiasm of the devotees on the first bathing festival is worth seeing. A period of bhajan worship has also started in the pandal of the sage saints in the fair area. However, Magh Mela will come in color around 27 January. Paush Purnima is on 28th January and Kalpavas begins a month from this day.
Administration estimates that this time three and a half crore devotees will come to Prayagraj. All preparations have been made to fulfill the Corona Guidelines in the fair area. It has been uploaded on the website after taking the details of the Kalpavasis coming from all the Tirtha Purohitas.
Due to the Kovid-19 guideline at Magh Mela, their number is less than the previous bathing festival, but there was no lack of faith anywhere. On the other hand, in Kanpur, Varanasi, Farurkhabad and Garhmukteshwar, devotees started taking holy dip in the bathing ghats from morning itself.
Har-Har Ganga, along with Jai Ghosh of Jai Maa Gange, are taking a dip in the Ganges to attain the virtue of Makar Sankranti festival. During this time, Kovid-19 protocol is not being followed in view of bathing at many bathing ghats.
Like every year at the fair, 5 Pantoon Bridge, 70 km of checkered plates have been laid this time. Looking at the corona, 16 points are scored. Adequate police force is deployed everywhere. Extensive arrangements for electricity, water and sanitation have been made at the fair. According to Meladikari Vivek Chaturvedi, preparations are complete in every way at the fair. There are elaborate security arrangements. Preparations have been made better in view of Kovid infection. Guidelines have been issued to all.
