Thiruvananthapuram. The Kerala High Court on Monday quashed the bail order for Tawaha Faisal by the NIA special court. He was arrested in 2019 due to alleged Maoist links in the Panthirankavu UAPA case. The High Court, however, did not revoke the bail granted to Alan Shuhaib, who was arrested along with Faisal.
In the High Court bench, Justice A. Hariprasad and K. Haripal was involved. He revoked the bail of Tawaha Faisal granted by the NIA special court on September 9, 2020.
The High Court, however, allowed the co-accused in the case, Allan Shuhaib, to continue his bail until the trial was completed. Faisal was a student of journalism while Shuhaib was studying law.
The court allowed Shuhaib to continue bail considering his age, his previous health condition and various levels of charges filed by the NIA.
