new Delhi . The relationship between the BJP and its ally AIADMK (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) in Tamil Nadu, which is counted among the major states of South India, seems to be brewing. The reason is that the ruling AIADMK has started placing such conditions before the BJP, which the BJP is not willing to accept. The visit of the BJP unit of the state taken in November last is also being attributed to the uneasy relationship, which was not allowed by the BAIADMK government. The ally AIADMK termed this visit of BJP as distributive. Despite this, the government arrested the leaders on the BJP’s visit.
What’s the latest issue?
Senior leader of the Tamil Nadu ruling party AIADMK and deputy coordinator K.P. Munusamy on Sunday made aggressive statements about the ally BJP. He has said that if the conditions of AIADMK are not met, the BJP will have to consider new options regarding the 2021 assembly elections.
In fact, in the first election rally of the AIADMK on Sunday, Munusamy placed two conditions before the BJP. He said that the BJP would have to support the Chief Ministerial candidate K Palaniswami on behalf of the AIADMK and the second condition is that there would be no bhagadari in the state government if they win. However, the BJP is yet to officially react to AIADMK leader Munusamy’s statement. But it is believed that his statement is going to widen the gap between the two parties before the assembly elections.
A senior BJP leader said, “If a coalition is formed before the election and then wins power, then the condition of one party to stay away from power participation is beyond comprehension. As far as AIADMK If the Chief Ministerial candidate Palaniswami is supported, the party’s top leadership will decide on it in consultation. However, there is nothing like a rift in the relationship. Statements are made in politics. Our alliance in Tamil Nadu is at present.
BJP did not open cards on CM face:
Recently, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar reached Tamil Nadu on a visit. In his presence, Kamal Haasan’s party Makkal Nidhi Mayyam’s founding general secretary A.K. Arunachalam joined BJP. During this time, the local media asked the questions related to the Chief Minister’s post on behalf of the NDA. Even before this, the BJP has refrained from replying to the Chief Minister’s face in Tamil Nadu. While K Palaniswami has been declared the face of the Chief Minister from AIADMK.
Sources associated with the BJP say that the party is in a state of weight and watch. Seeing the atmosphere, she wants to speak on the face of the Chief Minister. However, at present the party has decided not to support the Chief Ministerial candidate Palaniswami on behalf of the AIADMK.
It is worth mentioning that during the visit of Home Minister Amit Shah to Tamil Nadu on November 21, the AIADMK gave a statement to continue the alliance with the BJP. Let us know that in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections held in May 2016, the ruling AIADMK got 134 seats, while DMK came second with 89 seats. Congress had won only eight seats in the 232-member assembly election.
