Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaran said on Friday that the government is looking at big ideas from the industries for development in various fields so that they can make this time budget like never before. The central government is ready to move the economy out of the epidemic and give impetus to growth and that is why the Finance Minister has said that this time budget is ‘unprecedented’.
Speaking at the CII Partnership Summit 2020, Sitharaman said that the next Union Budget will help India emerge as an engine for global growth and economic revival.
The minister said that health and investment will be the top priority of the government in the near future.
The Finance Minister said that to bring development back on track, support should be extended to those areas which have been badly affected by the Kovid-19 epidemic as well as areas that could be carriers of further growth. He said that understanding of telemedicine would require extensive skills. He also said that livelihood is a big challenge and the industry must give its opinion in this matter.
He also said that all information received from the health sector will be taken into consideration in the budget.
He further said that India not only has the facility and capacity to produce the vaccine, but it also has the capacity to export it to humanity. He invited private partnerships to help scale the health sector by investing in pharmaceutical research and development, biotech, and pharma R&D, among others.
