New Delhi India’s women’s badminton player PV Sindhu will return to the court in January 2021, where she will compete in at least three tournaments. Indus is part of the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) and will now return to Badminton Court from the Yonex Thailand Open to be held from January 12 to 17 next year.
Rio Olympics silver medalist Sindhu will next play in the Toyota Thailand Open to be held from January 19 to 24 and then the World Tour Finals in Bangkok. However, he is yet to qualify for the World Tour Finals.
The Sports Ministry has accepted the request of Sindhu to have a physio and fitness trainer with her in the tournament.
The Sports Authority of India (Sai) said in a statement, “The services of their physio and trainer have been approved for these three tournaments, which will cost around Rs 8.25 lakh.”
Sindhu played her last tournament in All England in March this year. World champion Sindhu withdrew from the Denmark Open in September but agreed to play in the Thomas and Uber Cup, which was later postponed.
Due to this Kovid-19, the Tokyo Olympic Games due this year have been postponed for a year. Sindhu said that she was ready for the postponement due to the situation and therefore she was not surprised by it.
Sindhu said, “I was preparing myself mentally and physically to play in 2021. We were not far away and it was the state of the whole world. So every player went through the same position. We all got this The situation has to be understood, trained and given our best at the Tokyo Games. “
