Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Rural Development, Panchayat Raj and Food Processing Industries Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said on Wednesday that crores of farmers will get direct benefit of historical reforms in agriculture sector. He said that the goal of the Modi government is to make agriculture profitable and strengthen the country’s economy through the development of agriculture sector. The Union Agriculture Minister was speaking as the chief guest at the Agri-Food Processing Session during Assocham Foundation Week. He said that when the benefits of the package of Rs 1.5 lakh crores announced for agriculture and allied sectors under the Self-Reliant India Campaign will reach the villages, then the lives of farmers and villagers will be seen to change. He said that there is an atmosphere of enthusiasm in the country today about historical agricultural reforms.
Tomar said, “Historical reforms led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will directly benefit crores of farmers, and the entire agricultural sector will prosper.”
He further said, “Agriculture-based agriculture and rural areas are our capital as well as our strength. In India, the Mughals came, the British came, all of them tried to break our social fabric, but they did not succeed. Opposite opportunities also came in the intervening period and adverse conditions arose again during the Kovid crisis, but our agriculture and rural sector has consistently proved its strength. ”
Tomar said that, “There have been works in many sectors in the country from time to time, but basically there has been a lapse of timely private investment in rural and agricultural sectors, but since Prime Minister Narendra Modi took over the power of the country. It has consistently tried to improve the quality of life in the villages, livelihoods in the villages, increase the self-sufficiency of the villages. That is why the Modi government has started filling the gaps in the agriculture sector. ”
He said, “The population of small farmers in the country is around 86 percent, which has been taken by the central government to raise the standard of living. The establishment of small processing units in the village and the strengthening of the infrastructure are the country’s gross The contribution of agriculture to the domestic product will increase. ”
He informed that, “The third phase of the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana has been approved, which will cost 80,000 crore rupees, through PM Awas Yojana, to live in good houses, to provide LPG connection from village to village, house to house, With the basic facilities like providing electricity connection under Saubhagya scheme, the central government is making the standard of living of the people of the village easy and simple. ”
