Lucknow. The case of kidnapping a doctor in the capital and asking for ransom has come to light. Doctor Akhilesh Chaubey, posted in KGMU’s dental department, was abducted by some miscreants on Tuesday night. The miscreants took them to different places and demanded a ransom of Rs 30 lakh. The police have searched the CC footage at the scene of the victim’s reported death.
The aggrieved doctor says that he stayed near the Lohia Hospital to do the bathroom. Meanwhile, he was abducted by miscreants late on Tuesday. After several hours, he somehow got rid of the clutches of miscreants by saving his life. Late Wednesday, Dr. Kalyanpur Vikasnagar resident Akhilesh reached the Vikas Nagar police station and informed the police about the incident. After getting the information of the whole case, Vikas Nagar Police asked the doctor to go to the Vibhuti Khand police station and complain. After this, Dr. Akhilesh reached Vibhuti Khand police station late Wednesday night and gave Tahrir. According to ACP Vibhuti Khand Swatanter Kumar Singh, action will be taken by registering an FIR on the basis of the doctor’s tahrir. The entire matter is being investigated.
CC footage being scrutinized
In view of the seriousness of the case, ACP Vibhuti Khand has formed a police team. Police have searched the CC footage at the scene of the victim’s doctor. However, till Thursday morning the police could not find any important clues. The ACP says that the matter is being investigated at several points. Further action will be taken on the basis of evidence.
