Mumbai: Delhi Capitals opener Prithvi Shaw will hardly be able to play in the remaining two league matches for his team as the team’s assistant coach Shane Watson has indicated that Sha will be included in the league matches against Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians. Not likely to happen. Shaw played his last league match of this season for Delhi against Lucknow on May 1 and after that he could not play matches against Hyderabad, Chennai and Rajasthan.
Shane Watson while talking in an episode of Grade Cricketer said that he has fever for the past few weeks and due to this he is not finding it possible to play in the next matches. From the last few matches, this great opener batsman of the team is not available for us which is not good for the team as he was performing very well. Shaw had so far scored 259 runs in 9 matches for Delhi at a strike rate of 159.87, including two half-centuries.
Watson said that his absence in the team is a big loss for us. He has been going through a rough phase for the past few weeks, but it is expected that he will make a full recovery soon. However, it is unfortunate for us that he will not be part of our team at least for the next two matches. On the other hand, Delhi captain Rishabh Pant said about Sha’s availability after registering an 8-wicket win against Rajasthan Royals that we are missing him, but it is something we cannot control. The doctor told me that he had typhoid or something like that and hope that he will get well soon and go on the field.
