Lucknow. Jhansi, known as the land of Shaurya, is now ready to write a new text. Strawberry cultivation will be the main protagonist of this story. The land of Jhansi in UP is suitable for strawberry cultivation. To promote this cultivation, ‘Strawberry Festival’ is being organized in Jhansi.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the festival from January 17 to February 16. During this festival, its cultivation will be motivated throughout Bundelkhand including Jhansi.
According to Jhansi District Collector Andra Vamsi, farmers can get better income through strawberry cultivation. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is personally very keen for the development of Bundelkhand, which is in the backward areas of the state. He wants happiness in Bundelkhand everywhere. There should be progress from industry to farming.
He says that strawberry cultivation has started for the first time on the land of Bundelkhand. This region was never known for fruits. Jhansi district is known for its production of pulses, oilseeds and ginger. For the first time, two families in Jhansi, without any government help, have achieved such yields. These families, through drip irrigation and sprinkles, cultivated strawberries in the region, showing that strawberries could be grown in Jhansi and Bundelkhand. If it gets a boost in Jhansi, farmers will get a new source of better income.
According to the District Magistrate, when two families of Jhansi showed this by cultivating strawberries, we took inspiration from them and decided to organize the Strawberry Festival in Jhansi. Principal Secretary Park will also be present at the inauguration of this festival. DM Andra Vamsi explains that people will be encouraged to cultivate strawberries by organizing workshops during the Strawberry Festival. People will be told how to cultivate strawberry and how it will increase their income.
Happy Chawla, who is a strawberry farmer, said that one and a half acres of sampling has taken place, which has cost about 3 lakh acres. It will produce an estimated 10 thousand kg. Whose rate will come in 100 kg market. If it is produced and sold properly, then the price will be right. Farmers will get good profits from its cultivation.
According to Gaurav Garg, an expert on strawberry cultivation, strawberry farming can end the plight of farmers in Jhansi and Bundelkhand. A kilo of strawberries is available for about 70 to 80 rupees. The two families who have grown strawberries in Jhansi have the same taste as the strawberries of Mahabaleshwar. If strawberry cultivation was encouraged in Jhansi and Bundelkhand, it would be in the interest of farmers.
