Lucknow . The government of Uttar Pradesh is working fast to rid the youth of drug addiction. The ill effects of drug abuse are being promoted. Through drug de-addiction centers, addicts are being given the facility of conscious and free treatment. In this sequence, the Yogi government of the state is going to set up a 30-bed de-addiction center at the Kings English Hospital in Tudiyaganj and BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur under the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction Scheme of the Central Government, so that the youth can get drunk To get freedom from addiction.
According to the State Prohibition Officer, “10-bed Addiction Treatment Facility Centers will be set up in 30-bed de-addiction centers in Lucknow and Gorakhpur, as well as in government hospitals in three other districts of the state. Education here along with educational awareness , Marking, counseling, treatment and drug addiction will be rehabilitated. In addition training and capacity building work of service providers will be done. For this scheme more than 6 crore 37 lakh rupees for the financial year 2020-21 from Government of India A provision of funds has been made. ”
23 drug de-addiction centers are being operated in the state by non-government voluntary organizations funded by the prohibition department. Where drug addicts are being provided free treatment. Till November last year, in the de-addiction centers, the work of linking the addicts with the mainstream of society has been done by ridding them of addiction. According to the department, after the creation of two new de-addiction centers in Lucknow and Gorakhpur, the de-addiction program will gain momentum. Through the treatment and awareness to the victims of addiction, work will be done to get rid of this habit.
Awareness programs are organized on a large scale by the prohibition department for eradication of intoxication in the state. In this, students and young people are motivated to quit the bad addiction of intoxication. The department gives information about the harm caused by drugs through documentaries, sports competitions, wall paintings, rallies, cultural events and exhibitions. Last year, 311 sports competitions, 88 documentaries, 112 exhibitions and 571 seminars were organized by the department. In this, 1204 students participating in educational and sports competitions were also honored by the department.
