Dehradun. The roads of Doon are not so wide that traffic can also run in them. Even after this, construction materials are made narrower by the roads. Officials also ignore such kind of blindness on the streets, causing people to lose their lives in accidents. Not only this, overloading and haphazard parking are proving to be fatal.
Due to scattered sand, gravel and bricks on the road, 11 road accidents have occurred in the last three years, in which four persons died. Last year, the Municipal Corporation definitely remembered the construction material scattered on the roads and a massive campaign was carried out. Construction machines along with construction materials were also seized from the streets on the instructions of the Municipal Commissioner. At the same time, heavy fines were also collected from the persons who did so. However, once the campaign was stopped, the roads were not repaired. Now the situation is like before. Two-wheelers keep sliding on the day due to construction material, but no one is willing to pay attention to this.
12 thousand challans on wrong parking
The number of vehicle registrations in Doon has crossed 1 million this year. At the same time, no efforts were made for the widening of roads for years. Due to this, the same road is for vehicles and the same for parking. It can be understood that in such a situation, how will the traffic system of Doon run and even more road accidents are increasing unnecessarily. In the last few years, half-way efforts have been made in the name of parking system. Apart from smart parking, clock tower complex, dispensary road complex and some private complexes on Rajpur Road, parking facilities could not be provided. Due to lack of adequate parking, people are forced to park vehicles on the road. It can be ascertained from this that in the year 2019 the traffic police has made more than 12 thousand challans only on wrong parking.
