Patna. As the new Chief Minister of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Janata Dal United (JDU) President Nitish Kumar will be sworn in at Raj Bhawan at 4:30 pm today. During this period, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will also be present. Before this, the names of ministers will be finalized in the presence of Amit Shah. Nitish Kumar was earlier taking oath at Patna Gandhi Maidan in Patna, but this time in view of CoronaVirus Infection, the swearing-in ceremony has been held at Raj Bhavan in the presence of limited people.
BJP ministers will be decided in Amit Shah’s presence
It is being told that at three o’clock before the swearing-in ceremony, Home Minister Amit Shah is arriving in Patna. The names of BJP quota ministers will be finalized in his presence. It is believed that the name of Deputy Chief Minister will also be announced at the same time. Amit Shah will also attend the oath taking ceremony.
Government’s blueprint decided in BJP meeting
Earlier in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Legislature Party meeting on Sunday, the roadmap for BJP’s participation in the next government was also approved. In both BJP and NDA meetings, BJP’s election supervisor and defense minister Rajnath Singh, Bihar BJP in-charge Bhupendra Yadav and Bihar BJP election in-charge Devendra Fadnavis were present.
Tarkishore Prasad became leader of BJP Legislature Party
On Sunday, the first meeting of the newly elected BJP MLAs and councilors was held in Patna from 10 am onwards. It was also attended by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. Tara Kishore Prasad was elected the leader of BJP Legislature Party at the meeting. Whereas, BJP MLA Renu Devi from Betia was elected deputy leader.
Thoughts on BJP’s representation in the next cabinet
The meeting considered the BJP’s representation in the next cabinet. It may be noted that before this meeting of the BJP Legislature Party, the central leadership had summoned Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi to Delhi. There, he spoke to his party’s national president JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah and Bihar BJP’s in-charge Bhupendra Yadav, in the name of formation of a new government and potential ministers. After this, he returned to Patna on Saturday. It is believed that the cabinet will include many new faces. Whereas, many old ministers will be discharged this time.
Nitish’s name stamped in NDA meeting
After the BJP meeting, the NDA held an important meeting for about one and a half hours from 12:30 pm. At the meeting, the name of Nitish Kumar as the leader of the coalition was formally approved. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, who was present in the meeting, announced the name of Nitish Kumar. With Nitish Kumar formally elected as the leader in the NDA meeting, it is now decided to become Chief Minister for the seventh time.
Claimed to form government by meeting Governor
After being elected the leader of NDA, Nitish Kumar went to Raj Bhavan with BJP state president Sanjay Jaiswal, Hindustani Awam Morcha national president Jeetan Ram Manjhi and Vikasan Insan Party president Mukesh Sahni. Governor Fagu Chauhan presented his claim by giving a letter of support to the constituents. The Governor then invited him to form the government. A swearing-in ceremony will be held at Rajendra Mandap at Raj Bhavan at 4.30 pm on Monday, in which the Chief Minister and several other ministers from BJP quota will take oath along with the Chief Minister. There is a discussion that there will be two Deputy Chief Ministers from BJP quota. For this, the names of Mangal Pandey and Kameshwar Chaupal are at the forefront.
The date of the assembly session will be decided after the cabinet meeting
The Chief Minister said that the cabinet meeting will take place after the formation of the government and the swearing in of ministers. It will be decided to call the assembly session after the cabinet meeting.
