Kanpur . Legal action has started against Dr. Kripa Shankar Sankhwar, Congress candidate from Ghatampur assembly constituency after being caught on camera giving money to the villager. Notice has been issued to Sankhwar. This seat is to be held on November 3. A video went viral on social media in which candidates are seen giving notes to a person during election campaign in the village.
After this video surfaced, rival candidates have alleged that Congress candidates are trying to influence voters by distributing money in the constituency.
Ghatampur Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Arun Kumar said, “Taking cognizance of the alleged video, we have issued a notice to the Congress candidate.”
BJP President (Rural) Krishna Murari Shukla said, “In the video, the candidate is clearly seen giving money to a person. He was trying to influence voters by giving them money. This is clearly the election model There is a violation of the code of conduct. We have sent a complaint to the Election Commission. ”
Sankhwar, however, denied the charge and said, “I am giving my visiting card to a villager during the election campaign. It is a conspiracy and someone has made a video to blackmail me.”
