Dubai. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by eight wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) match. Rajasthan scored 154 runs for six wickets. In response, the Hyderabad team achieved the target by losing two wickets in 18.1 overs. After the match, Steve Smith said that he made a mistake by not giving the third over to fast bowler Jofra Archer at the beginning of Hyderabad’s innings.
Smith said, ‘I had a conversation with other teammates about giving Archer another over. We did not bowl him. Probably should have done him a third consecutive over. Archer drove Hyderabad openers David Warner for the fourth ball of the first over and Johnny Bairstow for the fourth ball of the third over. Smith then handed him bowling in the 12th over, by then Manish Pandey and Vijay Shankar had creased. Vijay Shankar hit three consecutive fours in the fourth over of Archer. Hyderabad retained a strong hold on the match.
Jofra took two big wickets early
Smith said that we started well. Joffra took two big wickets early, but we could not continue it. Vijay and Manish batted well. Skipper David Warner from Hyderabad returned to the dug out after contributing just four and Johnny Bairstow also only 10 runs. After this, Manish Pandey (83 not out, 47 balls, four fours, eight sixes) and Vijay Shankar (52 not out, 51 balls, six fours) did not allow the team to take any more blow. The duo won the team with an unbeaten partnership of 140 runs.
Rajasthan team in seventh position in points table
