Indore | Arpana Bishnoi, the first woman wrestler from Madhya Pradesh to receive a silver medal from India in the Commonwealth Wrestling Championship, said that Madhya Pradesh is playing with sports and sportspersons. Arpana thanked the Rajasthan government’s sports minister Ashok Chandna for making the players grade-one officers in Rajasthan and said that he would have been the sports minister of Madhya Pradesh.
Aparna Bishnoi has also appealed to the Jabalpur High Court to improve the Madhya Pradesh Sports Policy for the rights of the players.
In fact, Arpana is the first woman wrestler from Madhya Pradesh to receive a silver medal from India at the Commonwealth Wrestling Championship 2016 held in Singapore and as per Madhya Pradesh’s sports policy, the Commonwealth Wrestling Championship is not considered an authorized championship.
Arpana Bishnoi said that even after consistently winning medals at the international and national level, sportspersons in the state have to be deprived of jobs and other facilities. The state government makes big statements every time for many years and continues to play with the names of innocent sports people.
He said that, “Sometimes in the new sports policy it is arranged that players in government jobs can get the benefit of 5 percent reservation, sometimes by creating a rounding sports policy, the monkey of the sports award is given to benefit the academies. The government How long will it be to win by winning medals on the strength of outsiders in the national games? Arpana says, “How long will our government continue to roam around with the chest widened in the glory of the other sons?”
According to Aparna, on the lines of Haryana Government, now players are being made DSP and Grade-One officer in Rajasthan too. The good news comes from Rajasthan, where the Rajasthan government is making two-time Paralympic Gold Medalist before Diwali and Devendra Jhajhadia, who has been awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, as grade-one officer.
In Rajasthan, the Sports Department has sent a list of 30 players (A and B grade) to the Chief Secretary to give out-of-turn jobs to the players. Sports Minister Ashok Chandna has also written to the Chief Secretary to organize a meeting of the committee constituted under his chairmanship so that players can get jobs as soon as possible.
