Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday recommended that the Hathras case be investigated by the CBI. He said that a CBI inquiry has been recommended for the purpose of thorough investigation into the unfortunate incident of Hathras and all the points related to it. Information has been given to conduct a CBI inquiry by tweeting from the Chief Minister’s Office. The CBI inquiry order by the Yogi government came at a time when former Congress President Rahul Gandhi and General Secretary Priyanka Vadra had reached Hathras to meet the family of the deceased victim. The two leaders interacted with the victim’s family here for about an hour in a closed room.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself tweeted that “For the purpose of thorough investigation into the unfortunate incident of Hathras and all the points involved, the Government of Uttar Pradesh is recommending the investigation of this case through Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). For this incident We are committed to bring the harshest punishment to all those responsible. ”
Earlier, on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, both senior officers of the state went to Additional Chief Secretary Home Avnish Awasthi and DGP Hitesh Chandra Awasthi Hathras. In Hathras, the two officials had met the victim’s family and heard about their demands and problems. It has now been decided to hand over the entire case to the CBI. So far, the investigation of this case is being done by the SIT constituted under the chairmanship of the Home Secretary on the instructions of the Chief Minister. Based on the preliminary report of the SIT, five police officers and employees have been suspended there. Then late Saturday evening, he recommended a CBI inquiry into the entire case.
