new Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to the youth to read Swami Vivekananda’s speech which he gave in 1893 in the Parliament of Religions held in Chicago, USA. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also shared the text link of the speech on Twitter. Prime Minister Modi also remembered Acharya Vinoba Bhave on his birth anniversary on Friday. Prime Minister Modi tweeted, “Today, on 11 September, we mark two important milestones in India. Jayanti of Acharya Vinoba Bhave and the day Swami Vivekananda gave his excellent speech in Chicago. These great men have much to teach the entire humanity.
He further said, Swami Vivekananda’s address in 1893 fully demonstrated India’s ethos and values that are an integral part of our land. I urge the youth to read his speech.
Let us tell you that Swami Vivekananda, born in Kolkata on January 12, 1863, made a mark in the world of Sanatan religion and culture by giving a speech in 1893 in Chicago’s Religion Parliament. He had said, I am proud that I belong to the religion that has taught the world the lesson of tolerance and universal acceptance. Not only do we believe in universal tolerance, but we accept all religions as true.
