Mumbai. Singer Sudesh Bhonsle recalled the funny sentences from his past when he got his first break in Bollywood in the 1988 film ‘Jaljala’. Sharing this anecdote, he told, “Asha (Bhonsle) ji once heard me singing in the voice of Sachin da (SD Burman) in the studio. Then once I met him in person, he gave me his Asked someone to sing a song in front of me and I sang Sachin Da’s song ‘Doli Me Bethai K’ from the movie ‘Amar Prem’. After a few days I got a call from my manager’s telephone on behalf of the manager of Pancham da (RD Burman) The call came, asking me to reach the music studio with my passport by ten in the morning. ”
When he entered the room, he saw many legendary actors along with Asha Bhosle and RD Burman.
Sudesh further says, “As soon as Asha saw me, she pointed at me and said to Pancham Da, ‘This is the man.’ I was very surprised when Pancham da said to me in a different voice, ‘You sing in my father’s voice’ and I was able to just say to him that ‘No sir, I am just a fan of him.’ What Asha ji did was that after listening to my song, she recorded it in a cassette without any music and one day she played that cassette while Pancham da went to bathe. Pancham da is very surprised Gone and scared as he felt his father singing outside, while Sachin Da had passed away two years earlier. ”
The singer further added, “After this incident, Pancham da decided to take me with him to Hong Kong in 1986, where I sang songs in the voices of many different artists, but when I sang ‘Sun Mere Bandhu’, So Pancham Da hugged me and said that after reaching Mumbai he would first record his song in my voice. I got my first break in ‘Jaljala’ because of him. ”
Sudesh Bhonsle spoke about this during the recording of an episode of ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs’.
