MUMBAI: The state’s Mahavikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra, which is experiencing the worst corona infection in the country, has made rules for people to buy goats online and has also appealed to be sacrificed in a symbolic manner. Many people are now raising questions on this, including the Congress leaders.
Generally, before goat Eid people used to shop for goats from the markets. But in view of the increasing impact of corona infection in Maharashtra, the state government has this year said to goat shopping online, not in the markets. But now the festival has been left for a few days and people do not know from where to shop.
Social activist Zameer Sheikh said that now only a few days are left for goat Eid but there is no clear notification from the government. The government has asked us to shop online, but has it not made any app or portal or website for this and hence the government should take some steps for this soon.
According to information released by the Maharashtra government, the government has asked people to sacrifice the goats in a symbolic manner when possible. But the Congress leader Nasim Khan, who is also involved in the government, is seen raising questions on this decision and he has also written a letter to the Chief Minister to change it.
Congress leader Naseem Khan said, “Qurbani is an important festival of Muslims. The sacrifice cannot be online nor symbolic. There is no scope for symbolizing any worship in Islam and hence the government should take a decision on it again.” Should be taken.
The festival of Bakri Eid is to be celebrated on 1 August. But people do not know from where to buy the goat nor is any concrete information being provided by the administration. So those who want to celebrate this festival do not know how to celebrate it.
