Mumbai: Sensex (Sensex) opened more than 300 points on Friday due to selling in the global markets and losses in the shares of financial companies. The 30-share BSE Sensex lost 307.31 points or 0.81 percent to 37,833.16 points in early trade. Similarly, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was trading at 11,132.35 points at a loss of 83.10 points or 0.74 percent.
Among the Sensex companies, HDFC shares declined by almost two per cent. Axis Bank, Asian Paints, SBI, ICICI Bank, Kotak Bank, IndusInd Bank and HDFC Bank were also in losses. On the other hand, shares of Sun Pharma, Reliance Industries, Tech Mahindra and Infosys were in profit.
