new Delhi . One in every five people in the country has become unemployed after a nationwide lockdown relaxed to prevent coronavirus infection. This is revealed by the results of the survey conducted by the Kovid-19 tracker. The survey included 1723 people.
According to the survey, 21.57 per cent of the people have either been completely laid off or have become worthless. The survey also indicated that 25.92 per cent of the people are still working on the same income or salary under regulatory and security measures while 7.09 per cent of the people are working from homes and their salaries have not been cut.
The central government carried out a nationwide lockdown from March 25 while the unlocking process started from June 1. The survey was conducted from June 24 to July 22, based on the status of the earning member of the family.
According to the survey, the income of 8.33 per cent people has come down but they are working under regulation and safety measures while eight per cent of the people are working from home and their salary is cut or income is reduced.
The survey also indicates that 6.12 percent of the people in the country have no means of income after the relaxation of the lockdown, while 1.2 percent people are still working but are not getting salary.
The latest survey results and estimates are based on a daily poll conducted by CVoter that includes people over the age of 18 from across the state.
