On Monday, the Chinese army retreated about two km from Galvan, including tents and equipment. This is seen as a major step towards reducing the two-month-long tension between India and China over LAC. Indian troops have also retreated to the Galvan Valley in a similar fashion as agreed in both countries. After several rounds of military and diplomatic talks, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister had a phone conversation on Sunday. During this time it was agreed to withdraw their troops to reduce tension on the LAC.
