Bhopal. After a long struggle in Madhya Pradesh, the second expansion of the cabinet of Shivraj Singh Chauhan government has finally taken place, but now the department is ‘kitchen-kitchen’ for distribution. For which department to be given, there is a churn from Bhopal to Delhi.
The state had a change of power and the BJP came to power. Sworn in as Chief Minister of Shivraj Singh Chauhan. After more than three months, the cabinet has got a second extension. The first expansion took place a month after Chauhan was sworn in as Chief Minister. The five ministers who were sworn in earlier have up to two-department.
In the second expansion of the cabinet, 28 ministers have been sworn in, including 20 cabinet and eight ministers of state. Departments are to be distributed to these ministers, so ministers who have two portfolios may lose one department each. On the one hand, ministers worried by the possibility of snatching the department are using their political clout, on the other hand the new minister is seeking the desired department.
BJP sources say that Jyotiraditya Scindia, a member of the Rajya Sabha who has left the Congress and joined the BJP, wants to give some important portfolios to his supporting ministers, who are directly related to the common man. 11 supporting ministers of Scindia have been appointed and important departments like Rural Development, Panchayat, Women Child Development, Irrigation, Home, Transport, Public Relations, Food Supply have been sought by Scindia.
Sources say that Chief Minister Chouhan can also visit Delhi before the departments are distributed among the ministers. He is expected to meet senior leaders along with the party’s central leadership in Delhi. Only after this the distribution of departments is possible.
Congress spokesperson Ajay Singh Yadav has taken a dig at the non-distribution of portfolios of ministers even after two days and said that “MP has a weak government controlled by remote control. Remote Jyotiraditya Scindia’s hand of 14, the rest is different The leaders of the factions are there. Different leaders are pressurizing their supporters for the creamy department, so the portfolios are not being divided. This government is a burden to the state which will soon fall. ”
At the same time, political analyst Shiv Anurag Pateria says that the distribution of departments in the cabinet is part of the far-reaching strategy. Scindia wants to get important portfolios of his supporters to increase the political and economic status of the workers associated with them. In the coming times, at the district level, the BJP may look the same as the Congress factions are divided.
