Lucknow. The corona epidemic, which is continuously affecting the festivals along with the common life, has finally stopped the traditional Kanwar yatra. In the video conferencing held on Saturday between the Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Haryana, it was agreed that the Kavad Yatra, which will be held in Shravan month, will be postponed this year. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that after talks with religious leaders and Kawand Sanghs, their appeal should be made public and publicized.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held video conferencing with Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat from his government residence. It was discussed on behalf of the three that the Kavad associations and religious gurus in their states have proposed to postpone the Kavad yatra in the month of Shravan in view of the transition of Kovid-19. Considering this proposal, the three Chief Ministers decided that the visit should be postponed.
After this decision, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held video conferencing with all the Additional Director General of Police Zone and Mandalayukta of Uttar Pradesh. He was directed that officers should communicate with the religious leaders, Kawand Sanghs, Peace Committees etc. in their respective areas at the local level. Kovid-19 protocol should be followed completely. No more than five people should gather at any place. Two yards, the mask must be obeyed.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that after talks with religious leaders and Kawand Sanghs, his appeal should be made public and publicized. Yogi said that arrangements should be made for the safety and precaution of the pilgrims who go to the pagoda at the local level for five or less number of pilgrims. Chief Secretary RK Tiwari, Additional Chief Secretary Home and Information Avnish Kumar Awasthi, Director General of Police Hitesh Chandra Awasthi, Principal Secretary Chief Minister Sanjay Prasad and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
More than five people should not congregate on Bakrid too: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also warned officials about Bakrid. He said that on August 1, there is the festival of Eid-ul-Azha (Bakrid). There should not be any rush on this festival. Talk to religious leaders in all districts. Appeal to them also that no more than five persons should gather at any religious place. Yogi said that people of all communities should be made aware during all the festivals of Corona transition period. Inform people about prevention of corona through public address system at major places, markets and squares etc. Covid help desks should be established at all levels.
