Now vehicle owners in Uttar Pradesh will not have to keep a bundle of papers like RC because the Yogi government has taken a big decision for this. Vehicle owners will now get a smart card, which will have a chip. This chip will have all the information related to the vehicle. Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh announced this on Tuesday.
Smart card with micro chip in place of RC
Dayashankar Singh said that the Transport Corporation will now issue a smart card in place of the registration certificate. All kinds of data will be stored in the smart card with micro chip. This card will work like a pen drive. It can be accessed easily. Checking will be easy. Digitization will stop corruption and fraud. This will get rid of paper RC.
Smart card RC will have two types of data
Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh said that smart card RC will have two types of data. He said that details like date of registration, name of the owner will be on the card, while the microchip will have all the details like challan, traffic violation, permit.
Smart Card RC will provide relief from problems like paper getting wet, torn or lost. During traffic checking, complete information can be obtained by scanning the smart card. There will be no need to visit the RTO office. There were complaints of other irregularities related to the Registration Certificate (RC), which will now be curbed. The government plans to implement this initiative before Holi.
