Moradabad. The Special Investigation Branch of State GST raided five warehouses of a bidi factory in Amroha on Wednesday. Six teams of 30 officers along with the police force searched the warehouse records from morning till late night. After tax evasion of Rs 7.5 crore was detected, the warehouse operator deposited Rs 1.03 crore on the spot.
One thousand bidis are manufactured from one kilo of tendu leaves, while the firm owner had not shown the purchase of tendu leaves. A large number of tendu leaves were found in stock in their warehouse. The firm owner has not been able to show the record of which.
