Sambhal. After the ruckus during the survey in Jama Masjid, the police conducted a thorough search in the area around the mosque. The police team that arrived with a metal detector recovered two cartridge shells and three pistol bullets while cleaning the drains and bushes.
Three of the recovered cartridge shells have POF written on them, which is believed to be from Pakistan Ordnance Factory. The second one is made in America and the forensic team is investigating the third one. The violence that took place on November 24 is being linked to the Pakistani connection. The police have now become more cautious about this.
After the claim of a temple being presented in Jama Masjid of Sambhal, the miscreants started pelting stones and firing on the police even before the completion of the second phase of survey which started on November 24.
In response, the police also had to open fire. Four people died in the violence and one and a half dozen policemen and officers were injured. After this the police started their investigation. On Tuesday, the drains around the mosque were cleaned, and the sanitation workers informed the police about the presence of cartridge shells in the drains.
The forensic team also reached the spot along with the police officers. When the metal detector was used to check, six cartridge shells were found in the mud. One of these has POF written on it, which is made in Pakistan Ordnance Factory, the second has the USA mark on it. The police is assuming it to be of America. The third one has FN Star written on it, which is being investigated. Apart from this, three pistol cartridge shells have also been found, which are made here.
