Now the Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand government is ready to deal strictly with those who spit or urinate in food items, the government is going to bring a concrete law to take strict action against such people. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath yesterday brainstormed with officials to prevent pollution and fraud caused by spitting at food stalls. The government has clearly said that such actions of those who spoil social harmony will not be tolerated.
Yogi Adityanath had expressed his displeasure over such acts during a high level meeting in September and called it a violation of public trust. He had also ordered that the name and address of operators, owners and managers should be mandatorily displayed at all food establishments, failing which they will be punished. It is being said that the UP government is going to bring a law soon, in which the guilty will be given strict punishment if such adulteration is found in food items.
This action is being taken after many disgusting incidents. The most recent incident is a viral video from Saharanpur, in which a teenager was seen spitting on rotis, after which the restaurant owner was arrested. Similarly in Noida, two people were detained for contaminating juice with urine, while in Ghaziabad a vendor was arrested for spitting in fruit juice.
Dhami government also in action on spit jihad
At the same time, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is also preparing for action. Dhami said that the state government works under the zero tolerance policy, so spit jihad will no longer be tolerated. CM Dhami has said that CCTVs should be installed in food shops. He said that the employees of hotels and dhabas should be verified.
The Chief Ministers of two BJP-ruled states have prepared to deal strictly with those who spit and urinate in food items. Incidents of spitting and mixing urine are constantly coming to the fore on social media, after which the government has become strict.
