A heart-wrenching case has come to light from Pratapgarh in UP. The Panchayat of a village here crossed all limits of cruelty with a lover-girlfriend by issuing a Tughlaqi decree. The villagers shaved the woman’s head, smeared her face with soot and paraded her around the village. The villagers were very angry due to her illegal relationship with a boy from the same village. The angry villagers tied them to a tree, smeared their faces with soot and issued an order to cut their hair.
The woman’s lover fled from the village after getting a chance. But the villagers caught the woman, tied her to a tree and smeared her face with soot. When they were not satisfied with this, they also cut the woman’s hair. When the lover, who escaped from the clutches of the villagers, informed the police about the entire incident, there was a stir. On receiving the information, the force of many police stations including the Additional Superintendent of Police reached the spot. More than a dozen villagers involved in the Panchayat have been taken into custody. The woman’s cut hair has been recovered by the police and the video of the incident is becoming increasingly viral on social media.
The woman has an illicit relationship
The case is from Chhotki Ibrahimpur village of Hathigwan police station area. Here a woman has three children. The elder son is about 12 years old and there are two younger daughters. The woman’s husband works in Mumbai. It is alleged that the woman has an illicit relationship with a young man from the village. This news gradually spread in the village. The villagers objected to this but the young man did not stop coming to the woman’s house. People talked about stopping the illicit relationship so that the atmosphere of the village does not deteriorate, but the relationship between the two continued.
The Panchayat issued a Tughlaq decree
Panchayat had been held several times before on this matter. On Sunday, the villagers again held a panchayat on this matter. Linking the illicit relationship of the two with the honor of the village, an order was issued to punish both of them. The woman and her lover were tied to a tree and their faces were smeared with soot, then it was decided to cut their hair. Hearing this, the lover present in the panchayat escaped from the clutches of the villagers. The villagers caught the married woman and took her to the garden and tied her to a tree. They smeared the woman’s face with soot and cut off all her hair.

On the other hand, when the lover who escaped from the clutches of the villagers informed the police about this, there was a stir. Police from many police stations reached the village. More than a dozen people involved in the Panchayat were brought to the police station and are being questioned. A video of the incident has also gone viral. In it, the woman’s children can be heard saying that they tied their mother to the tree and smeared her face with soot, but questions are also being raised on how small children could carry out this incident. The police have arrested fifteen people in this case.
