A shocking case of theft has come to light from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. Where a maid stole gold biscuits worth Rs 75 lakh. After several days of investigation, the police managed to arrest the accused. Vineet Singh, who lives in Harjinder Nagar of the district, had lodged a complaint in the local police station. The accused Mansi used to work at the businessman’s house and had left the entire house on his trust.
It is alleged that Mansi stole 1 kg gold biscuit kept in the cupboard on June 2. Which was worth about Rs 75 lakh. During the investigation, the police checked the CCTV footage installed in the house. But nothing was visible in the camera. The neighbors and Mansi were also questioned. After this, when the police searched the CCTV cameras installed in the surroundings and streets, Mansi was seen walking intermittently in it and without any suspicion, she was taken into custody. After this, when she was interrogated strictly, she broke down.
The woman working in the house stole the gold biscuit
During interrogation, Mansi told the police that she had tied the gold biscuit on her stomach and she was unable to handle its weight. Due to this, she had to walk intermittently. DCP SK Singh said that the gold biscuit has been recovered from Mansi. According to the victim, Vipin Singh, a resident of Kalibari, Lal Bangla, he has a shop named Vipin Jewelers in Chowk Sarafa. He does the work of tuning and refining, due to which small shopkeepers get work done from him.
The police arrested the accused woman with gold biscuits
The victim Vineet Singh told the police in his complaint that due to his wife being pregnant, he had hired Mansi Vishwakarma, a resident of Chandranagar, for household work. She used to take care of the house from 10 am to 8 pm. On June 2, after getting the refining work done, he kept a gold biscuit worth Rs 75 lakh in his cupboard. Then he took his wife to the doctor. When he returned home at around 11 pm and opened the cupboard, he found the biscuits missing. After this, he lodged a complaint in the local police station.
