On the second day of the Lok Sabha election results, a new scene was seen in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. From Wednesday morning itself, a large number of Muslim women reached outside the UP Congress party office and started demanding ‘Guarantee Card’.
Not only this, many women also submitted the Congress guarantee card they had already received, with their name, address and number, in the party office. Some women claim that they have also received a receipt from the Congress office after filling and submitting the guarantee card.
The women said that during the election campaign, Congress had promised to give money, now I.N.D.I.A. has performed well, so we have come to submit the guarantee card. Many women also came to collect the guarantee card.
It should be noted that Congress has mentioned the promises made in its manifesto in the ‘Guarantee Card’. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge had started this campaign of the party on April 3 in New Delhi. In this guarantee card of Congress, every educated youth has been promised Rs 1 lakh annually under Yuva Nyay Yojana, and every woman from poor family has been promised Rs 1 lakh annually under Nari Nyay Yojana. Apart from this, it has been said to give MNREGA wages at the rate of at least Rs 400 per day. At the same time, loan waiver has been promised along with the legal guarantee of MSP with Swaminathan formula.
In this guarantee card, blank spaces have been given at the bottom to enter information like name, age, number of voters in the house, address, mobile number. Also a QR code has been given.
Congress workers were given the responsibility of distributing guarantee cards from house to house. Now even after the elections are over, the workers are distributing guarantee cards among the people and after filling the necessary information, while submitting them, they are also giving them receipts to get the benefits as per the party’s promise.
It is worth noting that in the result of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections declared on Tuesday, the INDIAA alliance has got 234 seats. In this, Congress has got 99 seats. On the other hand, the BJP-led NDA alliance has achieved absolute majority by winning 292 seats.
