Lucknow. A case has been registered against former minister Swami Prasad Maurya in Wazirganj police station for making objectionable remarks on Goddess Lakshmi ji. The court had ordered the Wazirganj police station in-charge to register a case under relevant sections and send a copy of the FIR to the court within seven days.
In this case, the Vakalatnama of Advocate KK Mishra, Advocate Abhay Pratap Singh and Advocate Asif Akhtar has been filed. Advocate Ragini Rastogi had given an application in the court under section 156(3). It was told that on November 15, 2023, the news of former Samajwadi Party general secretary and former minister Swami Prasad Maurya was published in a newspaper, in which he had made an objectionable comment on Goddess Lakshmi. Judicial Magistrate Ambrish Kumar Srivastava had summoned the report by Wazirganj police.
