Azamgarh: On the day of Rakshabandhan festival in the year 2016, Jitendra Musahar, a declared criminal carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh, escaped along with his two associates by jumping over the wall of Azamgarh jail. He was injured in an encounter with Lucknow unit of Special Task Force and Sidhari police station late on Friday night. . Illegal arms and cartridges were recovered from his possession. The injured criminal has been admitted to the hospital.
Jitendra Musahar, who committed many serious crimes including murder, robbery and robbery, had escaped from the District Jail located in Itaura on August 18, 2016 along with his two other associates. The team formed under the leadership of Sub Inspector Javed Alam Siddiqui, posted in STF, received information on Friday night that Jitendra Musahar, who had been declared a reward, was planning to commit a major crime in the district along with his partner Chandrashekhar Musahar.
On this information, STF team along with Sidhari police station started waiting for the miscreants near Bhaduli bypass. At around 2 o’clock in the night, two persons were seen coming on foot from that route and when we tried to stop them, they started firing.
In retaliatory firing, Jitendra Musahar resident of village Augusta police station area Nandganj district Ghazipur was shot in his right leg. Chandrashekhar managed to escape from the encounter site. Chandrashekhar Musahar and Prakash Musahar, both residents of Ghazipur district, had escaped from Azamgarh jail together with Jitendra by climbing the jail wall. Rewards have been announced for the arrest of all three.
All three are accused of murder including priest
The three criminals entered the temple premises located in the local Gram Panchayat under Tarwan police station and committed robbery in the temple after decapitating three people including the priest.
