A strange incident has come to light during the Hathras Mahotsav in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh. Here, two women got married again to get Rs 55,000 given under the Chief Minister Group Marriage Scheme. In this matter, Sikandrarau residents have complained to the SDM and demanded action.
In this complaint it was told that the women were already married, but by fraudulently registering in the mass marriage scheme, the women got married again. Other people are also suspected to be involved in this case.
Fraud in mass marriage scheme
According to the complainant, two women crossed the limits of fraud to get Rs 55,000 given under the mass marriage scheme. Both the women, despite being already married, registered themselves in the mass marriage scheme and then availed the benefits wrongly.
Brother and sister married each other
There is also a complaint that brother and sister also got married to take benefit from this group marriage. Hathras District Magistrate Archana Verma said that the matter has come to notice, instructions have been given to investigate it, legal action will be taken against the culprits.
