Actually, a match of TNPL 2023 played between Lyka Kovai Kings and Salem Spartans is garnering a lot of limelight. In this match played on Tuesday, Kovai Kings batsman Salem Sujoy was run out in the match, but the umpire did not pay attention to it and this batsman remained not out even after being dismissed.
Let us tell you that this matter is of the third over of Kings innings, when Abhishek Tanwar was bowling and left-handed batsman Salem Sujay was standing in front of him at the crease. On the third ball of this over, Sujay hit a shot towards the covers, which the fielders ran fast to catch and threw the ball at the non-striker’s end to run him out.
This ball was about to hit the batsman Sujay, but he jumped near the crease. Meanwhile, the ball just hit the stumps. However, the umpire did not give him out. Surprisingly, the batsman was in the air when the ball hit the wickets. His foot was not on the ground, so according to the rules, the batsman should have been given out, but neither the opposition nor the umpire noticed this. This video is now becoming increasingly viral on social media, due to which there is a lot of ruckus.
TNPL 2023: Lyka Kovai Kings won the match by 79 runs
If we talk about the match, then Salem won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Lyca Kovai Kings scored 199 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. For the team, S Sujay scored 44 runs, Sai Sudarshan scored 41 and Ram Arvind scored a half-century. Chasing 200 runs in reply, the Salem team was bundled out for 120 runs in 19 overs and thus the Kings won the match by 79 runs.
