UP IPS officer Anirudh Singh, infamous for the viral video of taking bribe of lakhs of rupees from the school director, is in dire straits. In the investigation conducted by the Varanasi Police Commissioner, the allegations of bribery against Anirudh Singh have been proved. At present, there has been talk of a departmental inquiry. If he is proved guilty in the departmental inquiry, then the sword of dismissal is hanging over Anirudh Singh.
At present, after this investigation report, there has been a stir in the state police headquarters as well. Because in a shameful case like bribery, an IPS level officer has been arrested in the state after a long time. Now the government is trying to set up a departmental inquiry committee in this matter. This is the same infamous IPS officer Anirudh Singh, who came into limelight with the video of bribery-recovery that went viral during his posting in Meerut CBCID.
Viral video being told old
However, the viral video was said to be old. But in that video, the way Anirudh Singh himself was seen doing the ‘deal’ of recovery-extortion, he not only put the prestige of the UP Police Department at stake, but also the country’s IPS lobby itself on that shameful incident of Anirudh Singh. was feeling ashamed. That viral video of a bribe recovery deal was being told when Anirudh Singh, the infamous name of khaki uniform, was posted in Varanasi.
It came to know about the viral video of a deal of lakhs of rupees ‘extortion’ from a school operator. That video was only during the posting of Anirudh Singh in Varanasi, as soon as the incident came to the notice, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath summoned the police chief of the state i.e. the then DGP IPS (now retired) DS Chauhan and asked for a report. Seeing the Chief Minister coming in the middle, the state police chief’s hands swelled. Therefore, he hurriedly handed over the investigation of the matter to the Varanasi Commissioner.
Allegations found true in investigation
When the report of the Commissioner of Varanasi reached the State Directorate General of Police in this matter, there was a stir again. Because in the viral video, the infamous IPS Anirudh Singh demanding bribe of lakhs of rupees has now been proved correct in the investigation of Varanasi Commissioner. It is necessary to mention here that IPS Aarti Singh, the wife of such infamous IPS officer Anirudh Singh, was also badly discussed during Varanasi posting. There was an allegation against her that she was not even ready to pay the rent of the house in which she was living on rent. However, as soon as his antics came to the fore, the department removed him from Varanasi and posted him in Kanpur.
According to UP State Directorate General of Police sources, Anirudh Singh used to be ASP of Chetganj circle (sub division) in Varanasi at the time of making this viral video of bribery. At the same time, a case of rape related to Sunbeam School was registered. In the same case, in order to save some people, this infamous officer was trying to collect ‘service money’ worth lakhs of rupees. However, when the matter came up in the initial stage and the investigation was done, this same Anirudh Singh was acquitted in the investigation. Unfortunately, when the same video went viral again, the accused IPS was badly caught in the clutches of the department’s investigation.
20 lakh deal allegation
In the viral video, the same infamous IPS school director was seen involved in a deal of 20 lakhs. TV9 talked about this on Friday with former 1998 batch UP cadre IPS officer and retired IG Intelligence (UP Police) RK Chaturvedi. He said, “This scandal is not only defamatory of any police officer or individual. This shameful incident has made the head of the IPS society and the UP police department bow down. If the Varanasi commissioner has proved guilty in his report. So understand that now they would have conditionally recommended a departmental inquiry into the matter in their report.”
Can the accused IPS be arrested after filing a case against him? When asked, RK Chaturvedi said, “No…you are talking about arrest. If by law the UP government got the departmental inquiry done. And if this sir (IPS Anirudh Singh, accused of bribery) is proved guilty in the departmental inquiry, then it may even lead to his dismissal. As for the rest of the punishment, reduction in their job, demotion, or deduction of salary, entry of this scandal in the character role, etc., doing all this will be the everyday work of the police department in this matter.
