Taking seriously the derailed power supply system of the state in the scorching heat, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed his displeasure over the undeclared power cuts by summoning the Energy Minister and senior officials of the department. Yogi instructed to immediately fix the faltering supply system and ensure adequate power supply from every village to the city according to the roster.
Feederwise officers should be made accountable: CM Yogi
The Chief Minister instructed that the accountability of the feeder-wise officers should be done. Replace faulty transformers immediately and purchase additional power if needed.
CM said- 24 hours electricity available at district headquarters
In view of the problems being faced by the people of the state due to indiscriminate power cuts across the state due to various reasons, the Chief Minister summoned Energy Minister AK Sharma, Chairman of Power Corporation M. Devraj and other officers on Friday. The Chief Minister directed that according to the fixed roster, 24 hours power supply should be ensured at district headquarters, 22 hours at tehsil headquarters and 18 hours in rural areas.
For this, if needed, additional electricity should be arranged without worrying about money. There is no dearth of money to provide adequate electricity. CM Yogi also instructed to set up a control room in every district and monitor the power system from the level of the District Magistrate. The Chief Minister said that every day, the power supply situation in each district should be reviewed. The responsibility of the officers-engineers should also be fixed according to each feeder for power supply.
Energy Minister said- Dhritarashtra has become an officer, reprimanded
Earlier, Energy Minister AK Sharma, while reviewing the power supply system at Shakti Bhavan, reprimanded the officials. Expressing displeasure over unexpected power cuts, tripping, improper shutdowns, transformer faults and other disturbances, the minister said that the officers sitting in Shakti Bhavan are not conscious about the electrical works, all are defaming the Energy Department. Dhritarashtra remains the high authority. Such work culture will not be acceptable. The minister instructed the officers for on-the-spot inspection. Said, unnecessary shutdowns and cuts should be stopped.
Mentioning more complaints about power cuts coming from Varanasi, Prayagraj, Aligarh, Bundelkhand, Bulandshahar and Siddharthnagar, the minister said that the stalled power supply due to burning and malfunctioning of transformers should be restored by installing trolley transformers. Reprimanding Director Commercial Amit Kumar Srivastava for less revenue collection compared to May last year, the minister said that recovery should be done by contacting big defaulters. Prepare details of defaulters of Rs 1 crore to Rs 10 crore.
Expressing his displeasure over the actions of Director Technical Kamlesh Bahadur, the minister said that at this time taking shutdown to pour oil in the transformer is very painful. No attempts were made to add oil in cold weather. Corporation’s Chairman M. Devraj, Managing Director Production and Transmission P Guruprasad, Power Corporation’s Managing Director Pankaj Kumar and other officers were present in the meeting.
