Sarai Akil: On Saturday, the police raided the in-laws of shooter Abdul Kavi, who was involved in the BSP MLA Raju Pal murder case, in Kataiya village. When the house of the in-laws was searched, 13 licensed and illegal weapons along with cartridges and shells were recovered. Five people including Abdul’s two sisters, brother-in-law have been arrested in the case. Everyone is being questioned.
absconding for 18 years
Earlier on Friday, similar action was taken in village Bhakhanda Uparhar of one lakh prize shooter Abdul. Notorious shooter Abdul Kavi is absconding for the last 18 years. After the murder of Umesh Pal, the search for Abdul Kavi intensified and the police got many information.
Abdul used to get shelter in Kataiya village
On this basis, when the close relatives of the shooter were picked up and interrogated, illegal weapons and others were found. During interrogation of the hideout caught on Friday, it was found that Abdul Kavi used to visit his in-laws’ Kataiya village. He is in contact with his in-laws during absconding. He also gives shelter to the fugitive Abdul.
73 cartridges including 5 pistols recovered
On this basis, SP Brijesh Kumar Srivastava, ASP Samar Bahadur along with the team raided Kataiya village on Saturday. This created panic among the villagers. When the police team conducted a search operation in different houses, the recovered weapons included three licensed rifles, three double barrel guns, two single barrel guns, three licensed rifles, five pistols with 73 cartridges and 65 shells.
The police arrested Abdul Kavi’s father-in-law Mohammad Avesh, brother-in-law Mohammad Irfan resident Berui, sister Shamshul Nishan resident Berui, sister Tabassum and brother-in-law Liaquat.
