Iglas (Aligarh). An elderly couple was murdered in UP’s Iglas. The couple used to live outside the village in a hut near the temple. The bodies of both were found in the hut itself on Saturday morning. There were injury marks on the neck and other parts of the body. The post mortem report has found death due to strangulation. Property dispute is believed to be behind this. The police have taken three sons and grandson into custody, who are being interrogated.

Ramjilal, 80, and his wife Bhagwan Devi, 72, residents of Badampur, lived outside the village in a shanty next to the Durga temple built on the fields. They have three sons, who live in the village. Four daughters are married. The family of the elder son Puran looked after the couple. The couple had a dispute with the other two sons regarding the division of the property. Puran’s daughter Neeru went to her grandmother and grandfather with tea at around seven o’clock on Saturday morning. When both of them did not wake up due to his efforts, they told their relatives. Both were dead. On knowing this, CO Iglas Rajeev Dwivedi, Inspector Praveen Singh also reached the spot. The forensic team has collected evidence.

The couple’s daughter, Birma Devi, wife Pappu Singh, a resident of Shekhpura village in Dadon area, has registered a case of murder against the unknown. Apart from the three sons Puran, Rajendra, Dinesh, the police have detained Rajendra’s son Mohan.
