Lucknow. The by-election to the Gola Gokarnath assembly seat of Lakhimpur Khera in Uttar Pradesh, which fell vacant due to the death of BJP MLA Arvind Giri, will be held on Thursday, November 3. Voting will be held from 7 am to 6 pm. The Election Commission of India has made elaborate arrangements for conducting fair, secure and peaceful elections. The main contest here is between BJP and SP. The BJP has fielded Arvind Giri’s son Aman Giri and the SP has fielded former MLA Vinay Tiwari. Congress and BSP have not fielded their candidates from here.
A total of 3.91 lakh voters will vote
Chief Electoral Officer Ajay Kumar Shukla said that a total of 3.91 lakh voters would exercise their franchise in the Gola Gokarnath Assembly seat by-election. Of these, 2.06 lakh are male, 1.85 lakh female and 25 third gender voters. A total of seven candidates are trying their luck in the election. There are total 441 polling stations and 222 polling stations. The Commission has posted a General Observer and an Expenditure Observer.

Voting in the Golagokarnath Assembly by-election will start from 7 am on Thursday and will continue till 6 pm. A total of seven candidates, including the BJP-SP, are in the fray in the by-elections. Their fate will be decided by 391146 voters by casting their votes in EVMs. Polling parties left from Rajapur Mandi on Wednesday, which reached the designated polling booths in the evening. After reaching the booths in the evening, the presiding officers informed the Sector Magistrate. Voting will begin at 7 am on Thursday. Before that a mock poll will be conducted.
