Lucknow. Dream of studying in Lucknow University Sanjoy A disabled student’s hopes were shattered when he could not get a hostel in the university. Referring to the rules, he was told that there is no Divyang quota in the hostel allotment. On Saturday, he finally got his admission canceled by giving an application and went back to the village with the TC. Kamal Deep Tiwari, a resident of Chava Begumpur village in Sitapur’s Mahouli block, has one hand and leg that does not work properly.
Kalam told that if he wanted to study in Love, then he gave entrance exam for BA. Open rank 777 came and admission was done. Home is 125 kms away. So applied for the hostel and filled the category of Physical Handicap (PH) in it. When the hostel allotment results came two days ago, his name was not there in the list. Distraught, he requests the hostel through Lavi’s tweezer.
If things did not work out, on Saturday he reached the Chief Provost with his uncle. But after waiting for two hours, he could not be met. It was told in the office that there is no reservation in hostel allotment for the handicapped. Frustrated, Kamal prayed for his admission to be canceled and went back.
There is no rule to give any reservation except OBC, SC, ST in hostel allotment in Lavi. The matter had come to notice, but without rules allotment cannot be done. -Pro. Anoop Kumar Singh, Chief Provost, Lucknow University.
