Lucknow. Samajwadi Party founder and patron Mulayam Singh Yadav will be cremated today. The last rites will be held at his ancestral village Saifai at three o’clock. Mulayam Singh said goodbye to this world on Monday at the age of 82 at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. Many veterans can reach to have the last glimpse of the SP leader. PM Modi is also likely to attend the funeral, although no official statement has been made on this.
CM Yogi paid tribute
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid last respects to Mulayam Singh Yadav in Saifai, Etawah on Monday. He paid his last respect to Mulayam’s body and paid homage. Along with him, BJP State President Chaudhary Bhupendra Singh and Jal Shakti Minister Swatantradev Singh also came and paid tribute to the SP leader.
Ashok Gehlot and Bhupesh Baghel will be involved
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and his Chhattisgarh counterpart Bhupesh Baghel will represent the Congress at the funeral of Samajwadi Party veteran Mulayam Singh Yadav. Congress veteran Mallikarjun Kharge will also attend the funeral. It is worth noting that Kharge is contesting for the party president’s election, so he will not join as the official leader of the party. However, it is not yet clear whether Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka, who are leading the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Karnataka, will be involved.

President Draupadi Murmu on Monday condoled the death of veteran politician Mulayam Singh Yadav, saying his death is an irreparable loss to the country. He said that the achievements of Mulayam Singh Yadav ji who came from a normal environment were extraordinary. ‘Dharti Putra’ Mulayam ji was a veteran leader associated with the land. People of all parties respected him. My deepest condolences to his family members and supporters. PM Modi also condoled the death of Mulayam Singh. He said that the death of the SP leader is a big loss.
