Bahraich. On the Sitapur highway, the miscreants riding the vehicle at the petrol pump of BJP MLA Sureshwar Singh located at Chahlarghat carried out the incident of robbery on Tuesday morning. By showing a knife, the miscreants snatched the salesman. Diesel worth Rs 13799.54 was looted. Firing and fled. There is panic in the area after the incident. Police reached the spot and started investigation.
M/s Sukhraj Singh Highway Petrolpump is in the name of Yogeshwar Singh, brother of BJP MLA Sureshwar Singh from Mahsi. The MLA says that the miscreants in the car reached the pump at 1.13 pm on Monday night. Filled diesel worth Rs 700 in the car and went towards Bahraich. The miscreants again reached the petrol pump at 2.56 hrs. Diesel worth Rs 13799.54 was filled in three jars kept in the trunk of the car.
The salesman present here asked him for diesel money. Meanwhile, the miscreant started snatching money from the salesman. Seeing the scuffle, other salesmen and watchmen present at the pump reached. Seeing this, the miscreants fled towards Sitapur, firing with a gun. The salesman and the watchman somehow saved his life by running away. There was chaos on the spot.
The salesman gave the information to the MLA. MLA Sureshwar Singh reached the spot. Hundreds of supporters also reached. Additional Superintendent of Police Rural Ashok Kumar, Circle Officer Police JP Tripathi also reached the spot along with the police force and investigated.
Questions raised on the police: There is a 24-hour police picket on the Chahalrighat bridge located on the Bahraich-Sitapur border. The miscreants entered the border late in the night and the police did not consider it appropriate to stop. When the miscreants came towards Bahraich, the policemen did not consider it appropriate to interrogate even at Bhagwanpur crossroads. After returning again, the miscreants carried out the incident and went towards Sitapur. In such a situation, questions are being raised about the working style of the police.
